BIOT 2202 - Applied Bioscience ResearchIn an applied learning investigation, students will extract DNA from an organism, amplify a specific gene, purify the product and ligate the gene into a plasmid with subsequent transformation. The resulting product will be analyzed with a variety of bioinformatics tools. Students will be introduced to the process of constructing a research investigation and communicating the results using scientific poster presentations. Prerequisites: BIOT 1113 or BIOL 1224 or instructor approval. Includes lab component.
