Program Description

This program is designed to provide students with an understanding of film history and aesthetics as well as critical approaches to the study of film.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program you will be able to:

  • Recognize that historical changes have aesthetic effects in the creation and understanding of film.
  • Analyze film in terms of artistic intent, function, and form.
  • Explain ideas, concepts, and/or values central to the humanities as expressed through cinema.
  • Communicate about domestic and international films using acquired vocabulary.
