Degree Map: Occupational Therapy Assistant AAS


This degree map provides the semester-by-semester course sequencing a full-time student will follow to complete this degree.  To earn the Associate in Applied Science degree, you must achieve a grade point average of 2.8 as a minimum on all coursework required for the degree.

Note the Milestones below each semester.  Milestones are reminders of actions you should take during that semester to help keep you on track for degree completion.

*Courses must be completed with a ‘C’ or better by the January 15 program application deadline.  

Milestones

  • All OCTA courses must be completed with a grade of ‘C’ / 70% or better to progress in the program.
  • All risk management requirements must be completed in preparation for the clinical setting (CPR, vaccinations, flu shot, TB test, etc.) including clearance on a national background check and negative drug screen.
  • Check the academic calendar for important dates and deadlines impacting classes and financial aid.
  • To maintain financial aid eligibility, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 1.70 during the first 30 credit hours attempted and complete 67% of the courses attempted.  Review your Financial Aid Dashboard or visit the Financial Aid Office to determine your financial aid status.
  • Download MS Office from MyTCC.
  • Form a study group, join a student organization, or volunteer at a community service site.
  • Visit the writing, math and science, or technology learning centers for free individual tutoring support services.
  • Meet with an academic advisor before enrolling for the next semester.

*Per ACOTE Standard C.1.13, a minimum of sixteen weeks of full-time (as defined by the fieldwork site) Level II fieldwork must be completed.  The AOTA Fieldwork Performance Evaluation must have a passing score of 70%.
