Program Map: American Sign Language, Interpreter Education Certificate


This program map shows how you might complete this certificate in five (5) semesters.  See an academic advisor for a customized program map that works for you.  To earn a Certificate of Achievement, you must achieve a grade point average of 2.0 as a minimum on all coursework required for the degree.   All ASLE and INED courses must be completed with a grade of ‘C’ or better.  Note: All ASLE classes include video lab assignments outside of class.

Note the Milestones below each semester.  Milestones are reminders of actions you should take during that semester to help keep you on track for certificate completion.

First Semester

  • Download MS Office from MyTCC.
  • Students in ASLE 1363 and ASLE 1413 must pass the course with a “C” or better.
  • Form a study group, join a student organization, or volunteer at a community service site.
  • Visit the writing, math and science, or technology learning centers for free individual tutoring support services.
  • Meet with an academic advisor before enrolling for the next semester.

Second Semester

The Certificate program is geared for students who currently already have a degree and who do not need general education courses to be prepared to transfer to a four year college or university.
