Degree Map: Cardiovascular Technology AAS

This degree map provides the semester-by-semester course sequencing a full-time student will follow to complete this degree. To earn the Associate in Applied Science degree, you must achieve a grade point average of 2.0 as a minimum on all coursework required for the degree.
Note the Milestones below each semester. Milestones are reminders of actions you should take during that semester to help keep you on track for degree completion.
Prerequisite Courses (required for admission to the program)
Milestones
- To maintain financial aid eligibility, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 1.70 during the first 30 credit hours attempted. See a financial aid counselor to determine your financial aid status.
- Check academic calendar for important dates and deadlines impacting classes and financial aid.
- Meet with an academic advisor before enrolling.
First Semester (Fall)
Milestones
- All CVTC courses must be completed with a 75% or better to progress in the program. Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 in all CVTC courses.
- All risk management requirements must be completed in preparation for the clinical setting (CPR, Vaccinations, Flu Shot, TB test, etc.) including clearance on a national background check and negative drug screen.
- To maintain financial aid eligibility, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 1.70 during the first 30 credit hours attempted. See a financial aid counselor to determine your financial aid status.
- Download MS Office from MyTCC.
- Form a study group, join a student organization, or volunteeer at a community service site.
- Visit the writing, math and science, or technology learning centers for free individual tutoring support services.
- Check academic calendar for important dates and deadlines impacting classes and financial aid.
Second Semester (Spring)
Milestones
- All CVTC courses must be completed with a 75% or better to progress in the program. Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 in all CVTC courses.

Fourth Semester (Fall)
Milestones
- COMM 1113 and PSYC 1113 must be taken in the first 8-week session, online, or during the evening.
- A minimum of 320 clinical hours must be successfully completed to progress in the program.
- All CVTC courses must be completed with a 75% or better to progress in the program. Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 in all CVTC courses.
- To maintain financial aid eligibility, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 if 31 or more hours have been attempted. See a financial aid counselor to determine your financial aid status.
- Check academic calendar for important dates and deadlines impacting classes and financial aid.
- Meet with an academic advisor for a graduation check.
Fifth Semester (Spring)
Milestones
- HIST 1483 or HIST 1493 and POLS 1113 must be taken in the first 8-week session, online, or during the evening.
- A minimum of 320 hours must be completed successfully to progress in the program.
- All CVTC courses must be completed with a 75% or better to progress in the program. Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 in all CVTC courses.
- Take the RCIS exam between April 1 and April 30.
- To maintain financial aid eligibility, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 if 31 or more hours have been attempted. See a financial aid counselor to determine your financial aid status.
- Meet with an academic advisor to file for graduation.
