GEOG 1014 - Geography (Physical) (L)Physical geography is a survey of those sciences which study the natural environment. The course presents a study of meteorology, climatology, geology, hydrology, oceanography, soil science, and plant and animal ecology. A major thrust of the course is to establish the interrelatedness of these sciences in terms of scientific principles which apply to each of them. Attention is given to the laws of thermodynamics as well as factors influencing the distributions of weather phenomena, climate zones, landforms, oceanic processes, soil processes, plants, and animals. The course is specifically aimed at non-science majors. Includes lab component.
