HITC 2113 - Management Techniques for Health Information ServicesDuring this course the application of basic management techniques as they relate to health information services are examined including planning, organizing, staffing, supervising, and controlling. Students will be exposed to the development and use of job descriptions, policies and procedures, productivity standards, performance evaluations, and budgets. Techniques for resume writing, interviewing, counseling, procedure analysis, forms design, department design and/or layout with ergonomic equipment consideration, and purchase, will also be addressed. Critical thinking skills, decision making techniques and team building concepts are examined. Prerequisite: HITC 1213 , with a grade of “C” or better.
