MUSC 1013 - Music Theory IDevelopment and cultivation of musicianship skills, especially in the areas of tonal and rhythmic perception and articulation. Presentation of the essentials of music; classification of triads and seventh chords and their inversions; introduction to analysis and part writing. Prerequisite: MUSC 1002 with a grade of “C” or better or pass proficiency exam. Corequisites: Concurrent enrollment in Class Piano or Private Piano and MUSC 1062 for music majors. Piano corequisite may be waived by demonstration of proficiency.
