SOCI 2143 - Inequalities in America (S) (D)An examination of the nature of inequality, the causes and consequences of prejudice and discrimination, and the varying patterns of majority-minority interactions in society. Six areas of inequality will be the focus: class, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, age and ability/disability. Effective solutions to prejudice and discriminatory practices will also be emphasized. Prerequisite: SOCI 1113 or instructor approval.
