FEMS 1224 - Emergency Services Safety and Survival This course introduces the basic principles and history related to the national firefighter life safety initiatives, focusing on the need for culture and behavior change throughout emergency services. Topics include the aspects of tactics and strategy in extinguishing fires; pre-fire plans, organization of the fire ground, including techniques of using available equipment and personnel; a study of conflagrations and techniques of predicting fire severity; the development of skills for effective response to crises.
