AVST 2293 - Certified Tower Operator

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Air Traffic Control Tower Operator (CTO) certificate rates and tests professionals on ground control, tower flight data, and local control within a tower. Air Traffic Control Tower Operators control air traffic on and within the vicinity of airport and movement of air traffic between altitude sectors and control centers according to established procedures and policies. In addition, Air Traffic Control Tower Operators authorize, regulate, and control commercial airline flights according to government or company regulations to expedite and ensure flight safety. The Air Traffic Control Tower Operator class for Tulsa Community College will be a Capstone Course that will bring all that you have studied and learned throughout the program into one exam. The Exam will be administered by an FAA-CTO Examiner at the completion of the course. Course permission will be required for enrollment in this course.  Please see an Aviation Academic Advisor for enrollment assistance.

Prerequisite: AVST 1343   and AVST 2225   with ”C” or better.
