MUSC 1113 - Music Appreciation A course designed to introduce students to the study of music as an aesthetic, historical, and cultural phenomenon. Students are instructed in perceiving and discerning the characteristics of musical sound, the functions of music in society, and development of the historical tradition of music, with emphasis on the music of the European classical repertoire as well as non-Western practices.
