To earn a Certificate of Achievement in this field of study, you must achieve a minimum 2.0 (‘C’) grade point average on the courses listed below. Note the Milestones below each semester. First Semester

Total Credit Hours: 5

must be completed with a ‘C’ or better or have instructor approval to progress to the next FREN course

Milestones

  • Check the academic calendar for important dates and deadlines impacting classes and financial aid.
  • To maintain financial aid eligibility, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 1.70 during the first 30 credit hours attempted and complete 67% of the courses attempted.  Review your Financial Aid Dashboard or visit the Financial Aid Office to determine your financial aid status.
  • Download MS Office from MyTCC.
  • Form a study group, join a student organization, or volunteer at a community service site.
  • Visit the writing, math and science, or technology learning centers for free individual tutoring support services.
  • Meet with an academic advisor before enrolling for the next semester.

Second Semester

Total Credit Hours: 5

must be completed with a ‘C’ or better or have instructor approval to progress to the next FREN course

Fourth Semester

  • Meet with an academic advisor to file for graduation and to discuss how these courses may also be applied toward the requirements for an associate degree in French.

*FREN 1001 French for Communication I prerequisite: FREN 1103 or approval of instructor

*FREN 1031 French Pronunciation prerequisite: FREN 1103 or approval of instructor

°*FREN 1213 French II prerequisite: FREN 1103 with a grade of “C” or better or instructor approval.

*FREN 1201 French for Communication II prerequisite: FREN 1213 or approval of instructor

°*FREN 2113 French Intermediate 1 prerequisite: FREN 1213 with a grade of “C” or better or instructor approval.

°*FREN 2213 French Intermediate 2 prerequisite: FREN 2113 with a grade of “C” or better or instructor approval

*FREN 2143 French Civilization and Culture  prerequisite: FREN 2113 with a grade of “C” or better or instructor approval

*FREN 2333 French International Seminar and/or Field Studies Prerequisite: Permission of Dean of Global Education and Associate Dean before enrollment and in advance of in-country experience

*FREN 2433 French Cinema and Conversation Prerequisite: FREN 2113 with a grade of “C” or  instructor approval.

*FREN 2513 Intermediate French Grammar and Conversation.Prerequisite: FREN 2113 with a grade of “C”  or instructor approval

*FREN 2523 Intermediate French Grammar and Composition Prerequisite: FREN 2113 with a grade of “C” or  instructor approval
