Veterinary Technology AAS Program Map Full-Time

If you are a full-time student taking at least 15 hours per semester and follow this degree map, you can complete this associate degree in two years. See an academic advisor for a customized degree map that works for you (however, VETT course schedule is fixed).
Students working more than 25 hours per week, or with other time-consuming obligations outside of school, should consider the part-time program. Consult with the Program Director.

Prerequisite Courses
BIOL 1224 or 1604, and ENGL 1113 must be completed prior to starting the full-time or part-time program (can be taken during the spring semester of application). It is recommended to complete prior to application. MATH must be completed before the 3rd semester. - To maintain financial aid eligibility, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 1.70 during the first 30 credit hours attempted and complete 67% of the courses attempted. Review your Financial Aid Dashboard or visit the Financial Aid Office to determine your financial aid status. (Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all VETT courses).
- All BIOL, CHEM, MATH and VETT courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.
- All risk management requirements must be completed in preparation for the clinical setting (vaccinations, TB test, etc.), including clearance on a national background check and negative drug screen prior to starting the program.
- Mandatory advisement with your assigned TCC academic advisor before enrolling for the next semester.
- Download MS Office from MyTCC.
- Form a study group, join a student organization, or volunteer at a community service site.
- Visit the writing, math and science, or technology learning centers for free individual tutoring support services.

Practicum is approximately 40 hours/week for 8 weeks in an assigned veterinary hospital or facility. Milestones

- Meet with an academic advisor for a graduation check and to complete a Petition for Computer Proficiency if needed.
- Complete applications for admission and financial aid for the four-year institution to which you plan to transfer.
