Veterinary Technology AAS Program Map Part-Time

Students working more than 25 hours per week, or with other time-consuming obligations outside of school, should consider the part-time program. You can complete this associate degree in three years (8 semesters) in the Part-time program. Consult with the Program Director.

Prerequisite Courses
BIOL 1414 or 1604, and ENGL 1113 must be completed prior to starting the full-time or part-time program (can be taken during the spring semester of application). It is recommended to complete prior to application.
All other General Education courses required for this degree may be completed concurrently with semesters 1-8 of the Veterinary Technology Program. It is recommended to complete all General Education courses before the 8th semester.
MATH must be completed before the 4th semester.

First Semester - Fall
MATH 1473 or higher level accepted. Total Credit Hours: 8 + Gen Eds
All other General Education courses required for this degree may be completed concurrently with semesters 1-8 of the Veterinary Technology Program. - To maintain financial aid eligibility, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 1.70 during the first 30 credit hours attempted and complete 67% of the courses attempted. Review your Financial Aid Dashboard or visit the Financial Aid Office to determine your financial aid status. (Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all VETT courses).
- All BIOL, CHEM, MATH and VETT courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.
- All risk management requirements must be completed in preparation for the clinical setting (vaccinations, TB test, etc.), including clearance on a national background check and negative drug screen prior to starting the program.
- Mandatory advisement with your assigned TCC academic advisor before enrolling for the next semester.

- Form a study group, join a student organization, or volunteer at a community service site.
- Visit the writing, math and science, or technology learning centers for free individual tutoring support services.
Second Semester - Spring
CHEM 1114 or higher level accepted.

Sixth Semester - Summer
Practicum is approximately 40 hours/week for 8 weeks in an assigned veterinary hospital or facility.
