Program Description

This program offers comprehensive training in tower and terminal radar approach control procedures, utilizing Adacel’s high-fidelity simulation technology for both control tower and radar approach scenarios. The curriculum incorporates cutting-edge training to address the evolving needs of the air traffic control industry. Tulsa Community College’s Enhanced AT-CTI program, officially recognized by the FAA as the AT-ECTI program, is designed to equip students with the essential skills and training required for employment at an FAA or Contract Air Traffic Control Tower.

The primary goal of the program is to prepare graduates to take the FAA written and practical assessments, enabling them to qualify for “on-the-spot” hiring as Air Traffic Control Specialists with the Federal Aviation Administration. To pursue a career as an FAA air traffic controller within the National Airspace System, students must pass the FAA assessments with a score of 70 percent or higher. Successful students in the AT-ECTI program may be directly placed at an FAA control tower without the need to attend the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, although they remain eligible to attend the FAA Air Traffic Academy.

Students are required to achieve a minimum grade of “C” or higher in specialized courses to progress to the next level. Please note that admission to Tulsa Community College does not guarantee acceptance into the Air Traffic Control program.
