Program Description

Pre-Pharmacy is an educational pathway designed to equip you with the courses and knowledge needed to pursue a graduate-level Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program.

Upon successful completion of this program you will be able to:

Communicate science information using oral, written, or digital presentation techniques.
Use proper laboratory techniques to solve scientific problems.
Integrate concepts from several disciplines around a central biological theme.
Describe reaction mechanisms and synthesis of organic compounds.

English 6 hours

History and Political Science 6 hours

POLS 1113 - American Federal Government
and select one course from the following:
HIST 1483 - U.S. History 1492 to the Civil War Era
HIST 1493 - U.S. History - Civil War Era to the Present

Humanities 6 hours

Mathematics 6 hours

MATH 1513 - Precalculus I
MATH 2523 - Calculus for Business, Life, and Social Sciences
(MATH 2114 - Analytic Geometry and Calculus I may be taken in place of MATH 2523. Consult the selected College of Pharmacy for specific prerequisite requirements before selecting MATH 2114.)

General Education Required Elective 3 hours

After consulting with your academic advisor, select one course from the following:

PHYS 1114 - General Physics I

Controlled Electives 6-8 hours
