Occupational Therapy Assistant AAS Program Map

This degree map provides the semester-by-semester course sequencing a full-time student will follow to complete this degree. To earn the Associate in Applied Science degree, you must achieve a grade point average of 2.8 as a minimum on all coursework required for the degree. Note the Milestones below each semester. Milestones are reminders of actions you should take during that semester to help keep you on track for degree completion.

Total Credit Hours: 7
*Courses must be completed with a ‘C’ or better no later than the Spring semester prior to entering the program. Milestones
- Must attend the Allied Health Smart Start Orientation.
- Research the Occupational Therapy field to complete the Career Exploration activity as part of the OTA Program Application. Visit Career Services if you need assistant.
- Meet with your Academic Advisor to discuss your pogress, classes and application to the program.
- Meet with your Academic Success Coach for study and test-taking skills needs.
- Meet the minimum 2.8 GPA and 18 ACT (960 SAT) for a complete application.
- If invited for an interview, meet with Career Services for mock interview prep before your interview with the program.
- All clinical compliance requirements must be completed in preparation for the clinical setting (CPR, vaccinations, flu shot, TB test, etc.) including clearance on a national background check and negative drug screen. The background check requires a student to have a valid SSN or a work visa.
- Check the academic calendar for important dates and deadlines impacting classes and financial aid.
- To maintain financial aid eligibility, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 1.70 during the first 30 credit hours attempted and complete 67% of the courses attempted. Review your Financial Aid Dashboard or visit the Financial Aid Office to determine your financial aid status.
- Download Microsoft Office 365 from MyTCC.
- Meet with an academic advisor before enrolling for the next semester.
Milestones
- All OCTA courses must be completed with a grade of ‘C’ / 70% or better to progress in the program.
- All clinical compliance requirements must be completed in preparation for the clinical setting (CPR, vaccinations, flu shot, TB test, etc.) including clearance on a national background check and negative drug screen.
- Check the academic calendar for important dates and deadlines impacting classes and financial aid.
