Child Development AAS, Early Childhood Option Program Map

If you are a full-time student taking 15 hours per semester and follow this degree map, you can complete this associate degree in two years. See an academic advisor for a customized degree map that works for you. Note the Milestones below each semester. Milestones are reminders of actions you should take during that semester to help keep you on track for degree completion. All Child Development (CHLD) courses must be completed with a “C” or better for graduation.

- Submit CDA for PLA.
- Complete a background check in the School of Child Development and Education office.

- To maintain financial aid eligibility, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 1.70 during the first 30 credit hours attempted and complete 67% of the courses attempted. Review your Financial Aid Dashboard or visit the Financial Aid Office to determine your financial aid status.
- Attend Smart Start Orientation
- Meet with your academic advisor.
- Visit Career Services.

- Visit CECPD to receive Early Learning Guidelines credit for taking CHLD 2233
- Check the academic calendar for important dates and deadlines impacting classes and financial aid.
- To maintain financial aid eligibility, students must make Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward completing an associate degree, an eligible vocational certificate and/or transfer program to a four-year college/university. Both quantitative (pace of completion and maximum timeframe) and qualitative (GPA) standards are used to evaluate all semesters of your enrollment. Review your Financial Aid through your MyTCC or visit the Financial Aid Office to learn more about your SAP status.
- Meet with your academic advisor. File to graduate with a Certificate of Mastery.
- Visit Career Services to explore career options
