This is a degree plan for the Spanish Certificate that you can complete in as early as four semesters (about two years). It outlines the courses to take each semester. It also includes helpful milestones, which are simple action steps to keep you on track. To earn the Certificate of Achievement, you will need at least a 2.0 (C) grade point average (GPA) in the required courses. It is important that you meet with an academic advisor to customize this plan to your schedule and goals.
If you already have strong Spanish skills (native or heritage speaker, prior coursework, study abroad, etc.), you can earn course credit through the CLEP or the departmental exam and move faster through this certificate. Ask your advisor to see which exam fits your background, how the credit applies to your plan, and how to register through the Testing Center.
