World Languages AA, French Option Program Map

The degree map below is an example of how a full-time student can select their courses each semester to complete this degree in six semesters. See an academic advisor for a customized degree map that works for you. To be recommended for the Associate in Arts degree, you must achieve a grade point average of 2.0 as a minimum on all coursework attempted (minimum of 60 hours). Note the Milestones below each semester. Milestones are reminders of actions you should take during that semester to help keep you on track for degree completion.
Students with advanced language are encouraged to ask their advisor about the CLEP or departmental placement exams to determine eligibility for credit and placement into a higher-level course.

- Elementary French I must be completed with a ‘C’ or better or have instructor approval to progress to the next FREN course)

- To maintain financial aid eligibility, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 1.70 during the first 30 credit hours attempted and complete 67% of the courses attempted. Review your Financial Aid Dashboard or visit the Financial Aid Office to determine your financial aid status.
- Download MS Office from MyTCC.
- Form a study group, join a student organization, or volunteer at a community service site.
- Connect with the World Languages Lab to explore tutoring services and receive individualized support in-person or online.
- Meet with an academic advisor before enrolling for the next semester.

- Meet with an academic advisor before enrolling for the next semester. The next course in sequence is French 2113 Intermediate French I, which can also be taken concurrently with FREN 2213 Intermediate French II.

If you successfully completed French 1103, 1213 and 2113 with a C or better or took the CLEP/Departmental Exam – Congratulations! You earned a Microcredential Badge. With this badge, you demonstrate the ability to communicate in French at an elementary to early intermediate level. Share your badge with your employer, add it to your resume and/or post it on Linkedin - FREN 2113 Intermediate French I may be taken concurrently with FREN 2213 Intermediate II with instructor’s approval.

- FREN 2213 Intermediate French II maybe taken concurrently with FREN 2513 Intermediate French Grammar and Conversation with instructor’s approval.
- FREN 2513 Intermediate French Grammar and Conversation maybe taken concurrently with FREN 2523 Intermediate French Grammar and Composition with instructor’s approval
- Meet with an academic advisor for a graduation check if you have not done so yet.
- Complete applications for admission and financial aid for the four-year institution to which you plan to transfer, if you have not done so yet.
