Pre-Pharmacy AS Program Map


If you are a full-time student and follow this degree map, you can complete this associate degree in two years. See an academic advisor for a customized degree map that works for you. To be recommended for the Associate in Science degree, you must achieve a grade point average of 2.0 as a minimum on all coursework attempted (minimum of 60 hours). Note the Milestones below each semester. Milestones are reminders of actions you should take during that semester to help keep you on track for degree completion.

Prerequisite Course - Prior to First Full Semester


MATH 1513 is a pre-requisite for CHEM 1315. Students should consult with their academic advisor regarding math placement.

Am I On Track?:

  • CHEM 1315 and BIOL 1414 must be taken in the first semester to gradyate in two years. For both courses, students must earn a “C” or above to progress to the next chemistry and biology course in the sequence.
  • Reach out to your intended transfer institution to ensure you are taking all of the correct pre-requisite courses. Some transfer institutions vary in their elective requirements.
  • Check the academic calendar for important dates and deadlines impacting classes and financial aid.
  • To maintain financial aid eligibility, a student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 1.70 during the first 30 credit hours attempted and complete 67% of the courses attempted.  Review your Financial Aid Dashboard or visit the Financial Aid Office to determine your financial aid status.
  • Meet with an academic advisor before enrolling for the next semester.

How Can I Make Myself a Competitive Pharmacy Applicant?:

  • Most Pharmacy programs have GPA requirements for admission. Ensure that you know the requirements!
  • Start reaching out to local pharmacies and hospitals to inquire about pharmacy technician position openings as well as medical shadowing opportunities. Shadowing and pharmacy experience will get you involved in your future field and make you a stronger applicant!
  • Reach out to your intended transfer institution to ensure you are satisfying their application requirements. Some institutions vary in their elective requirements.

Second Semester


To progress in the chemistry sequence, students will need to pass CHEM 1415 with a “C” or above.

  • Most Pharmacy programs have GPA requirements for admission. Make sure that your TCC GPA is on-track to meet requirements!
  • Schedule a campus visit with your transfer institution’s student recruitment office.
  • Visit Career Services by your 20th credit hour to explore career opportunities associated with this degree.
  • Continuing with shadowing and pharmacy experience will get you involved in your future field and make you a stronger applicant!

Third Semester


TCC’s organic chemistry sequence is on Oklahoma’s State CEP matrix; therefore, these course will transfer to the 4-year institutions that have their organic chemistry sequence also listed on the matrix.

  • Meet with the Writing Center to go over your personal statement and other written application materials.

This curriculum has been specifically designed to provide seamless transition to the doctoral programs at Oklahoma Colleges of Pharmacy. You should work closely with an academic advisor each semester to make certain you are enrolled in the correct courses for a seamless transfer process and you are encouraged to begin a dialogue with your intended College of Pharmacy as early as possible. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that he/she understands the program/admission/transfer requirements for the transfer school.
